Western Region - Rev. John Reinke (MAL). Pastor Reinke is working with Pastor Palmer in developing new ministries to the deaf. Pastor Reinke serves at Our Savior Deaf Lutheran/Madison, and Holy Cross/Delavan. Our Savior Deaf was purchased through a partnership involving the congregation, the District and LCEF. The church at Holy Cross was recently renovated. The pastors are developing a “Church without Walls” for service to the deaf over the internet (www.deafjesus.org)
Eastern Region - Rev. William Palmer. Pastor Palmer continues his effective ministry to the Deaf in the eastern region, serving Emmanuel/Milwaukee and smaller mission sites. Rev. Palmer is involved in mission work in Ghana. He is traveling to Ghana, leaving April 19th, 2006 for three weeks, Click Here for updates.
Deaf Institute of Theology. The Deaf Institute of Theology is designed to train laity in levels of courses, from the basics of sharing one’s faith through male and female lay workers to men becoming ordained pastors through colloquy. Special outreach to Ghana, West Africa and India. Pastors Reinke and Palmer have initiated a new outreach to the deaf in Africa, through the beginning of a leadership training and evangelism program in Ghana, West Africa. Two to four mission trips are made each year to provide confirmation instruction and training to those who are deaf and willing serve in this outreach effort.
